Matthew is currently completing an Honours thesis as part of a Bachelor of Computer Science, developing an optical see-through Mobile Augmented Reality system under the supervision of Dr. Christian Sandor. By combining recent hardware solutions with a powerful and extensible software framework, the research will help shift towards the adoption of optical see-through technology in the mobile domain and provide more immersive augmented experiences to users. Matthew previously completed research internships at the Magic Vision Lab, working on unifying the development of OpenGL shaders for desktop and mobile platforms, as well as at the Health Informatics Lab developing tools for parsing and translating the HGVS language for describing genetic variations between subjects. His other research interests include programming language design, implementation and compilers, a field in which he hopes to work during postgraduate research.
